Rose-breasted Grosbeaks breed in eastern forests; you can find them among both deciduous trees and conifers. Males and females build their nest together. Made of twigs, decaying leaves and straw, it is constructed on the thinner side, which allows their eggs to be seen from below. Males also share incubation duties and are known to even sing while sitting on a nest.
